Vintage Vitus 979-49cm. Dura Ace Components. (Used)

Selling my Vintage 49cm Vitus 979. This bike is really awesome and in excellent shape for the vintage-ness. All original Dura-Ace components and rides like a champ. Down tube shifting is smooth and works great.

March 2023 I paid for a full major tune up where we updated the cable housing, new chain, updated the bars, added risers, stem and cleaned up the bike to ship shape. Mechanic said this bike is in amazing shape for its age. I prefer local sale only, but if you are super into this bike i would be willing to ship it. You would need to pay for shipping/shipping supplies.

Pedals and Saddle NOT included.

Original Description:

1980s vintage French built BONDED aluminum racing frame - a construction method the company pioneered in the late 1970s. Compared to modern aluminum bicycle frames, early Vitus aluminum frames, such as the 979, offered more comfort because of the small diameter of the tubes and greater degree of flex than their steel and modern aluminum counterparts. The frames lack some degree of lateral stiffness compared to their steel counterparts due to the bonding of the aluminum lugs, rather than the typical welding used by most manufacturers of that era.
