Fuso Road Bike (1986), 58cm (Used)

For Sale… 86 First Generation Fuso, 58cm, all Campagnolo, in nice condition. Please PM me if interested, questions, etc.

Serial number 58 729 (1986 production run).

Dave Moulton, a Southern California frame builder produced fewer than 1500 such First Generation FUSO frames between 1984-87. He retired from frame building in 1993.

Moulton called this a size 58cm - Fuso size was described with ST measured BB center to top of the top tube. In case you need to know, this 58cm is C-C ST = 57mm and C-C top tube = 56.5cm. Standover is 32-5/8”.

Frame is Columbus lugged SL with SPX down tube and chainstays. The frame features a rear brake bridge and other braze-on parts by Cinelli. It features a FUSO lugged steel fork with cast, engraved fork bridge. The frame is dent-free.

The build is quite nice. 3 x 9 drivetrain is all-Campagnolo Centaur — including crankset, brakes and brifters, except brifters which are Campy Daytona.

Campy headset, Nitro drop bars on a Specialized stem (probably by Nitro).

Wheels are Mavic Open Pro’s with Michelin Axial Pros in good condition.

Sella Italia Trans Am Max Flite saddle on Shimano 600 seat post.

Original silver-red paint finish with very few scratches and most decals look good. (If you are interested in seeing the various flaws, please PM me and I can take photos for you). Paint finish was selected by each FUSO customer from as many as three colors.

I am no longer able to longer ride, but the last time I rode everything worked well. It has been in smoke free, indoor storage for years. Since it has not been ridden for a few years, it will need a tune up.
