Colnago C40 Mapei (Used)

Colnago C40 Mapei in the 2002 version with B-Stay seatstays and darker blue headtube. Please note that THIS FRAME HAS BEEN REPAINTED. I’ve tried to include very detailed high resolution images of the paint and logo details so that you can see the quality of the work. I would say the quality of the paint and condition of the bike is excellent, with only one blemish noted and pictured.

Original serial number was preserved by the painter (on the derailleur braze) so that authenticity can be verified. Otherwise it is very difficult to tell that it has been repainted, even up close. Disclosing because this is a very expensive bike and I’d hate to waste anyone’s time if they’re looking for an original paint C40.

This bike is built with modern componentry and a custom built wheelset so that it can serve as an enjoyable bike to ride and not just a collector’s item. This bike has not been ridden since being built.

Continental tires (25c Ultra Sport front/25c GP4000s rear)

This bike was recently built by In Velo Veritas in Old Sacramento. Cables, brake pads, bar tape, and cable guides are all brand new. Tires have 95% left. Cassette and chain have very low miles. This bike should be ready to go and not in need of maintenance or replacement parts for many, many miles.

I haven’t ridden this bike but I have another C40 with 11 speed Campagnolo and it is a wonderful bike to ride; the character of steel with the lightness of carbon. Wheelset is light and responsive, and very robust. If you desire a modern carbon wheelset, I have BNIB dark label Bora One 50 that can be included for an additional $1400 (see my other ad for pictures). Both sets of wheels with an additional BNIB 12-29 Chorus 11 cassette to make swapping between them easy would be +$1700. Pedals not included but I can throw some used Look Keo 2 Max in white on there for $50. If you prefer a black saddle I have both new and used black saddles I can swap out, so just ask.

Bike weighs 17.2 lb on my unofficial scale, would come in right around 17 lb with the Bora One 50 wheelset. Lots of pictures and info so if there are any questions, feel free to send a message and I’ll try to respond promptly.
