2021 Salsa Spearfish Carbon Xt (Used)

Im selling this excellent bike not because its not good enough for me, but because I am not good enough for it. Okay, partially kidding. I like biking and Im a decent rider, but I love a lot of other outdoor sports too and cant give this bike enough attention. Ive replaced it with a much cheaper hardtail.

This bike is amazing for trail riding, but also for bikepacking. The geometry is comfortable, its light and efficient enough to be reasonable for dirt road riding. The frame triangle is huge, and can fit 2 large water bottles or a massive frame bag. The 2021 Colorado Trail Race was won on this bike.

Almost everything is stock and you can find the frame specs and build kit on Salsas site. Ill tell you more interesting stuff: whats different, and why I like a few of the components. Everything works excellently.

Frame: Super bright yellow. Very clean, with minor discoloration in some spots, and 2 small but noticeable paint chips. One is on the bottom of the downtube, the other is near the rear hub.

Chainstay: Aluminum. Stock one cracked, not due to any crash, it just appeared (come to think of it, Ive never crashed this bike. I dont crash, Im too scared). Warrantied by Salsa effortlessly and replaced with a black one. The black one has been fine for a while now. Sounds like a fluke.

Tires: Maxxis Reckon 2.4 front, about 80% tread

Maxxis Ardent 2.4 rear, probably 20% tread. Fast rolling!

Suspension: works great, full professional $200 service 3 months ago.

Drivetrain: I dont keep track of miles but this is the second chain, and it was replaced before the old one got bad. Shift cable and housing replaced 1 month ago, tuned to a high standard. XT shifter is awesome, gives you 4 clicks of easy or 2 clicks of hard, via a single thumb push. Pretty fun when you are accelerating fast to have that double click.

Brakes: never serviced, just work beautifully.

Dropper: Awesome. Adjustable travel, so you can have zero seatpost exposed and fine tune your seat height using just dropper travel.

Stock grips (not pictured) and saddle. No pedals.

Frame bag: Salsa brand. Huge, fits perfectly, pretty waterproof. Zipper works okay, could be better.
