Description:
Are you fat-curious but also dont want too much weight? Do you want to smash everything (on the road/trail) in sight? Do you wear small or medium?
READ ON! (FYI this is a bike ad)
For sale here is a fat bike that deals with some modern fat issues such as:
-
Weight (this bike weighs 30 lbs as shown, which is LIGHT for a fat bike)
-
Zero-Maintenance Suspension (no this bike doesnt have rear suspension, but it has a $1000 Lauf Carbonara leaf spring fork, which means NO MAINTENANCE)
-
Slacker Geometry (because its overforked… this bike came with a rigid fork stock)
-
Dropper Post (because few fat bikes come with droppers as standard these days)
FULL DETAILS AS SHOWN (extras listed after):
-
2016 Framed Alaskan Carbon frame (officially small, but with the overfork its more like Medium)
-
Lauf Carbonara leaf spring suspension fork (a $1000 upgrade)
-
SRAM Level hydraulic disc brakes
-
SRAM SX derailleur, with AbsoluteBlack Oval 34t Chainring, Sunrace 11sp 11-42t cassette, and RaceFace 175mm Cranks
-
PNW Cascade 125mm Dropper Post
-
SunRingle Mulefut 26 front wheel, PUB Carbon 26 rear wheel
-
Framed Minnesota 26x4.0 tires, tubeless installed (fresh as of 07/31/2023)
-
Salsa 750mm 31.6mm Handlebars
-
Raceface Respond 50mm Stem
EXTRAS (INCLUDED):
-
Barely used (1-2 rides) Maxxis Minion FBF 26x4.8 and FBR 26x4.0 tires. (I swapped back to Minnesota tires because I wanted to save the Maxxiss for winter riding, but then didnt ride much last winter)… these are EXPENSIVE tires
-
2 Spare Tubes for fat tires (unused)
-
Spare Derailleur Hanger (unused)
-
Rear Fender (used a LOT but its a fender – dont want too much road salt/sand/grime getting into the dropper post do we?)
-
Raceface Round 34t Chainring (in case Oval isnt your thing)
-
Bar Mitts to keep your hands warm - I wear regular MTB gloves when its 10deg outside when my hands are in these (Ill include these if you buy at listing, otherwise extra $50)
CONDITION:
This bike is in excellent condition. Ive taken pictures of 2 scuffs on the frame… the one on the FRAMED lettering is just a scratch on the lettering, and the other one on the black frame is slightly deeper but still just an outer layer of carbon. Zero signs of structural damage. This bike handles black diamond rock gardens VERY well… the fat tires must make up for the lack of suspension compared to its fancy FS MTB brethren.
TRADES:
The only trade Ill consider will be a small gravel bike.
CONCLUSION:
All in all, if you want to get into winter mountain biking or fat biking, this is an option thats
-
Lightweight
-
Low maintenance (as much maintenance as a rigid, since the dropper has a fender to protect it)
-
Will crush any pesky snow or rock in its path (esp. on the Maxxis tires)
ROAR!!!
