Description:
Super fun, versatile dh bike with dialled build. Recent full rebuild on both fork and shock including dampers, well maintained and it rides really well. The shock has a wide range so its easy to tune the bike as a poppy, playful park bike, or a planted crusher - at the moment its set up in a happy medium. With the VPP it actually pedals decently.
Ive had it since 2015 and it hasnt been my primary bike, and its only been out a few times in the last three years. Sad but it’s time to clear space. Also Im 6-3 and its on the compact side for me. In 2015 it seemed huge, but by todays standards its more for someone 5-8 to 6-1. The offset headset does bump it up a partial size. Reach aside, the geometry is current - slack and shreddy.
The frame is a bit rough but its tight, quiet, and smooth. There are scuffs and rock chips and a small dent in the top tube. The main thing is there is a dent with a small hole under the downtube, just above the bb. I have it plugged, and the opening is about 2 mm. I’ve kept a super close eye on it, and after 4 years and plenty of riding it hasn’t changed the slightest bit. It’s in a massively reinforced area of the frame and I’m completely sure that it’s solid and not a problem. The selling price includes a discount that reflects this condition - buy a dope bike and you get the front triangle for free.
Works offset headset - adds 7-8 mm extra reach
Fox 40 air, clean stanchions and about 6 rides on full rebuild
Cane Creek DB Coil, 500 and 550 lb springs, about 6 rides on full rebuild
Saint 10 sp shifter and derailleur
Zee brakes and cranks
Hope Pro 4 hubs - wheels are tight and very close to true
DT Swiss EX 511 rear rim (30mmID) - 6 days on rebuild with new rim/nips/DT Competition spokes, no dings
Nextie carbon front rim (34mm ID), not new and has minor scuffs/rock chips but has proven very durable.
Magic Mary 2.6 DH front tire (decent condition)
Maxxis DHF 2.5 DH Maxxgrip rear (ok for now but replace soon)
Cushcore Pro in both tires
Thomson seat post
Easton Havoc carbon bars, 800 mm, 35 mm, light scuffs but only in the clear coat
Truvativ Descendant stem, nearly new
Spares/extras including Zee derailleur, cassette, 2 sets new brake pads, 500 lb spring, Cane Creek shock tool
If you prefer 31.6 alloy bars, lmk and for a small upcharge I could include either Chromag OSX (logos are perfect color match to the frame) or Renthals, with a 31.6 Renthal DM stem.
